Some may have interpreted it wrong. It’s not every day that the colors of the hills are brown. Some went to Chocolate Hills and are very excited not knowing Chocolate Hills will just look like chocolate during summer or dry season.
Chocolate Hills; its a very unusual landscape that is composed of many smalls hills in the island. This is unique and can be seen only in this island.
There are more than 1,300 individual hills covering more than 50 square kilometres and they range from 30 to 90 metres in height. During the rainy season, the hills are lush green and then vegetation turns the landscape into chocolatey brown during the dry season, hence, the famous name
"Chocolate Hills”. Chocolate Hills Complex” is the original viewing station of the Chocolate Hills. It located about 55 km from Tagbilaran city and five km from Carmen city. There is another viewing station near the Sagbayan city called “Sagbayan Peak”. It is much further away from the major cities of the island (75 km from Tagbilaran city), also the place is less promoted, so there’s much less tourists there.
